Monday we will review the main topics of programming and computational thinking, in prep for a quiz on Wednesday.

Concepts for quiz:
  • Conditional statements
  • Looping
  • Variables
  • Animation
  • Wait/Pause
  • Object-oriented programming
  • Listening (mouse, keys)
  • Testing and Debugging
  • Reusing
  • Abstracting/Modularizing
  • Logical order
Then, we will shift to watching the wonderful movies you made!

If time allows, we will then get you going on your game development.  If not, we'll start that Wednesday after the quiz.  We will begin with understanding how to diagram a game, just like a storyboard, and talk about "game design" which deals with the rules of play.

Friday you should have an idea about what type of game you'd like to make, and also how many other techniques work.  We will then talk about "game design".  It's not pictures or colors, but how the game works.  Check out this example of a game flowchart:    For the next week of two, we'll be working on game development, but this will become a project.  Learn how to divide up responsibilities with your design.  When developing, you can each have an account to develop a technical solution.  You can have a person with the final game under their account that can import or copy your other work.  Plan!!
