Week of April 10

This week we will do a very quick review/tutorial of how to use Unity3D to make 2D games.

Follow the same video tutorial style here to make the "UFO" game, which is just like RollABall, but in 2D.

It will ask you to download Assets, but most can't.  However, it's only 3 pictures, and they are attached to the bottom of this page.  Simply create your 2D project in Unity.  Then, save these pictures to the Asset folder of your project.

For those who would like the full Asset package and more complex game, there's Rogue!    Here is that site for code:  https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/projects/2d-roguelike-tutorial

If you want those videos, there are here:  https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7n_q2VL-OKiRWdBV2J5QmFaRDg

Unity is a great engine for games, both 2D and 3D.  Locally, HiRez Studios used it to make Jetpack Fighter!

You should be able to finish the UFO game this week.  You can work in pairs to get it done.  Like last time, the code is available online too, for those who want to copy and paste.  Visit this link:  https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/projects/2d-ufo-tutorial

UPDATE:  now that we've started a new project, considering using our time to make something for your Escape Room, if you are a CDAT9 or CDAT10.
