First, we will take a look at what the State and County want you to learn in this course, and how I see doing it.   Here's the State outline of the course.

Make a blog!  There are plenty of tools.  This will be the main focus of your grades for the semester (in addition to conversations we have about your progress).
I personally recommend a Google Site or a Blogger.com .  Why?  Google owns them, more likely to get you noticed!  Keep in mind you might show this to colleges, etc., so keep it fun but clean.

Once you create it, submit it on this Google Form please:

Next, what do you want to do this semester, this year?  Time to grow up, and take ownership of YOUR goals.  Your engineering project should be something you are inspired to do, that keeps you awake late, or wakes you up early, or both.  It should be something that you have a vague idea about how to do, but you don't know all of it and you have stuff to learn.  It should be reasonable to afford, or are you willing to raise money?

My job is to help you find some ideas.  If you are not truly excited by it, it's not a good idea.  You need to be excited, because it's going to be a long haul.  Check out Kickstarter.com for inspiration.   Once you find your idea, you should also search the United States Patent site for ANYTHING that might be similar to what you're looking for.  http://www.uspto.gov/patent

Your goal this week:  identify what you like to do and your interests, ways that could be your project, start your blog.  If teams do form, what are the responsibility areas (jobs) for each person.  If you do work as a team, EACH person still needs a blog.
