Week of Jan. 17

Short week.

Some of us may have met on Monday, maybe not.  Updates and goals:

1A - work on the "BallPickerUppper", or the BPU!  We need an estimate on size overall, imagine a box.  The drivebase team needs that to design the rest of the base.  Get a prototype going, maybe some Inventor design started at the same time.

2A - we will work on the drivebase, as well as the rope climber.  I will show a drivebase concept, with "boxes" showing where things might go, all within the volume of a robot.  Drivebase, we will review the standard drive kit, and rope climbers should prototype (remember, ugly is good, as long as it works!).    The drive kit comes with many variations, and we should evaluate how to optimize it.

Here's a link to the kit that you can download or review: http://www.andymark.com/AM14U3-p/am-14u3.htm

Also, spoke to another coach:  scoring Fuel in AUTO is much higher!  The dream autonomous:  hang a gear, fill with fuel, dump it in!  If we could get some Fuel scored in AUTO, 40kPa might be within reach. Their team is actually considering scoring the 40kPa AS their AUTO goal, but it does depend on a high speed shooter.
