This week is SO important to your project's success!

Those teams that have established a system of good communication and assigning goals are rocking!  Here's what YOUR team should be doing this week, and talk about this during your Academy time:

Graded this week:
  • Regular status updates (every day) - have an "Updates" page.  These are honest reflections about where you are at, what you want to do, and the steps you need to take next. (Any day)
    • Updates should be posted online after every Academy time meeting.
    • Every team member should have assignments:  WHO is doing WHAT by WHEN?
A person is assigned a job and a due date, EVERY meeting.  This should be for any group, even individuals.

  • Prototypes - virtual or physical, depending on what you are making (due Monday/Tuesday).  NTI until I see one.
  • Posters - one for game, one for rules (due Wednesday/Thursday)
  • Updated models - based on prototypes and goals  (due Thursday/Friday)
The biggest error we see students make is thinking they have so much time.  The better thinking is to be done early, make any minor adjustments, and chill out.  Instead, many wait, get stressed out and yelled at, then work really hard at the end.  Sounds like if the same amount of hard work is done early, life is better...

After this, we move onto powering your karts with this tutorial from Sparkfun on voltage, current, resistance and more.

Straight from MIT to you:  Electrical Systems Part 1

And, of course, Part 2:  Electrical Systems Part 2
