A short week, but a good week!

This week we start another hands-on activity, building bridges.   You will be working in teams of 4 to build the strongest bridges, and then we will see who has built the best by putting into our Stress Analyzer! ( A real machine that tests the strength.)

Then, let's take a look at different kinds of bridges (see the Bridges powerpoint below)
and then this disaster:  https://youtu.be/BmxHxPYc1qc

Here are some other resources:
Based on what you know, and the goal of the contest, what will YOUR team design?

Day 1:  introduce your team, listen to the assignment and the types of bridges, then brainstorm.  You will receive your supplies if you have a good sketch of your design ideas that is very clear and understandable.  Also, be sure to write a plan for the sections of your bridge, like walls, floor, etc., so you can build in pieces that can be assembled.

Day 2-3: you will build your bridge, with the looming stress test.....  Be sure to listen to team members and their ideas, the best solutions come from teams who have good communication and are ready to improve their design.

You will have a quiz on Day 2 (either Thursday or Friday) on types of bridges, and the "design process".
