This will be a weird week, with room changes, schedule verifications, and lots of introductory stuff.

In addition, you'll be taking a pre-test for the class.

If we have time, we're going to listen to some cool people:
Now, let's listen to some cool people.  First, we'll talk about sections of a song: intro, "A" section, "B" section, measures, outro, bridge.  Also, we'll talk about timing and "conditions" when the music does certain things.  Don't worry about perfect understanding, just try to use these terms in our conversation.  LISTEN, don't even watch, the videos together.
And finally, 
YOUR ASSIGNMENT
  • Find a song you like, feel free to share it with a friend.  Assuming a 4/4 count, I want you to outline the song structure.
    • List the measure counts for the intro, A and B sections (they might alternate and repeat), outro.  Note where a "bridge" might occur.
    • List the way the section is built:  what instruments/sounds are in the A section, in the B section, and so on.
    • Be ready to submit this Monday.
