Week of Sept. 23-27

We made some great progress last week with a somewhat challenging but essential pair of programming "constructs" (things that are really core to the idea of programming):  loops and conditions.

I really, really, really, really want to reinforce the idea that you think of what you want, THEN you code.  With loops and conditions, you are now empowered to do SO many things.  We have some subtle aspects to learn, some more tools, but these 2 concepts/constructs are the core of just about everything else you will program.

So, here's the schedule for the week:

Monday - review some of the "LHSCustomBeats" from the social media website by EarSketch.  We'll listen to some as a group, and read the code as we do.  Remember, I didn't want full compositions in this, just a great beat, custom from your head!    We will then review a few other ways to compare things in conditional statements ("ifs").   Then, finish uploading any more projects for "LHSCustomBeats".

Tuesday we went into the MIDI lab to make some custom loops for you to use.  You will use them on "Big Project 2" over the next 2 days.

Wednesday we start "Big Project 2".  You will do this today and Thursday.  Click here to view the requirements.

Thursday we continue the "Big Project 2"

Friday will be the multiple choice test I've promised, which will include some basic terms, and all of the information from the course so far.
